California Run for the Fallen consists of a dedicated team of active duty runners, medics, support personnel and Gold Star Families. We also receive support from all branches of Active Duty, Retired Military, Reserve and Veteran supporters. The Green Knights Motorcycle Club, Patriot Guard Riders Warriors Watch Riders and American Legion Riders provide security along the route.
Mark your calendars for the 8th Annual CA Run For the Fallen. Starting Friday,October 11, 2019 through Sunday, October 13, 2019, a dedicated run team will travel from Elk Grove to the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. The 150 mile journey commemorates Post 9/11 casualties from California.
For three days the run team will stop at each mile marker on the route to present and post an American flag and personalized biographical card to honor each veteran who has paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country; paving a memorial trail throughout Northern California. A public 5K is held on the last day at the cemetery allowing family, friends and the community who want to help honor and remember our country’s fallen.
The California Run for the Fallen is an organization of runners and support crew whose mission is clear and simple: To raise awareness for the lives of California service members who have fallen Post 9/11/2001 including casualties of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN and INHERENT RESOLVE; to rejuvenate their memories and keep their spirits alive; to support organizations that aid California Gold Star Families, and to aid in the healing process for those families whose lives have been affected by combatant or non-combatant situations.
